Partnership Letter - August 2007

We are consumed with zeal for the house of the Lord.  A house not made of bricks; a house made of “living stones” – people (1 Peter 2:5).  After about six years of “kingly ministry”, the Lord has asked Robin and I to re-enter the life of priests, devoted fully to ministering to the Lord, equipping the saints, and loving others more than ourselves.  More specifically, we are devoting our lives to equipping the church of northwest Arkansas in prayer, worship, unity, love, and biblical family – all of which fuels and results in the saving knowledge of Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Our full-time pursuit is to fulfill the desires expressed by Jesus himself for His house, His people:

“My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations.”
Matthew 21:13 / Isaiah 56:7

“…love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.  This is the first commandment.”
Mark 12:30

“…that they (who believe in me) may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent me.”
John 17:20-21

Prayer.  Worship.  Unity.  Revival.  We are giving ourselves wholly to the gospel of Jesus Christ, and to the discipleship of all of those the Lord will give to us, in obedience to “The Great Commission” of Matthew 28:19-20.  Would you please consider partnering with us in this commission?  The New Testament and the ministry of the first century apostles and disciples illustrates the place of both “the sent ones” and “the senders” as fulfillment of this great commission.  Would you please pray about how you can help send us?

“How shall they call on Him whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they haven’t heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent?”
Romans 10:14-15

“The Lord…sent them two by two before His face into every city and place where He Himself was about to go. Then He said to them, ‘The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest’.”
Luke 10:2

Effective evangelism is preceded by prayer.  Anointed teaching is fueled by prayer.  Humility is wrought in prayer.  The ability to love others as Christ loves us must come through prayer.  Laborers for the Harvest are released by prayer.  Repentance happens through prayer.  A region… our region… our land being healed – by prayer.  (2 Chronicles 7:14)

The church has all kinds of truly wonderful and needed expressions of leadership in its organizational charts, but where are the “Prayer Ministers”; the watchmen on the walls that the Lord appointed to change and guard nations, by day and by night?  In unison with the cry of our preceding biblical intercessors – Abraham,  Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Samuel, Isaiah, and Jesus – “Here I am.”  Here we are.

We want to share this passion and our reward with you – to see the church in our region contending for a great harvest through prayer, fasting, worship, and acts of unconditional love.  Please pray about how the Lord would have you partner with us in this full-time devotion.
